I was first licensed in 1966 with call sign WN9SFK.  After high school, I became radio-inactive for 20+ years.  I upgraded to Advanced class in 1991 with call sign KF9EO.  In 1992, I upgraded to Amateur Extra class and aquired the W9AN call sign in 1996 when the FCC opened the Amateur Radio Vanity Call Sign System to Extra class licensees.

I enjoy working DX and contests primarily to work more DX.  I enjoy sending and receiving QSL cards.  I QSL 100%.  If you send a QSL card, I will send you a QSL card.  No SASE required.  If you are a county hunter, I beleive that Carroll county, Illinois is somewhat rare.

My other hobby is collecting and restoring antique telephones.
